Cyclin D1, a protein that helps control cell division, is found in higher than normal amounts in several types of cancer cells. Measuring the amount of cyclin D1 in blood cells may help to diagnose cancer or plan cancer treatment. Cyclin D1 is a cell cycle protein and a type of tumor marker.
